America's Bloggiest Dress

Everyone and their mother is blogging this dress, so I figured I would do it a second time.  I've made some observations of others' choices:  mustard is superb but there is no way in hell I will wear mustard, strappy sandals and bare legs are tempting but hell is still frozen here.

There is something 70s secretary sexy about this dress. I am channeling that above.

Below?  Who knows what I am channeling there.

Mixer

This one goes out to my friend Aimee, at Vint Condition.

Why did I never think of mixing patterns in pure black and white?

She is a pretty smart lady, that Aimee.

This was the perfect outfit for a day spent training and being trained.  Comfy yet still not jeans (which I don't fund all that comfortable anyway!)

Striped shirt, J.Crew; cardi, leftover preggo wear from Motherhood Maternity pulled out of the bag I have saved for my friend Laura; pants, Gap; shoes, Dansko.

Dotty

What does it say about me that my boss kept telling people to check out my "matchy" outfit.  "She's so coordinated!"
Am I usually especially UNcoordinated??  You would tell, me, right??

Jacket, J Crew; skirt, gift; shoes, Bass.

Watermelon

I so rarely take my Management-given opportunity to wear jeans at work on Fridays. I say "Management" as if I was not part of the team that wrote the policy.  I am my own Man.  Heavy.

Anyway.  I did it today because I am tired and stressed and feel as if every aspect of my life is half-assed and disorganized and that wearing jeans would give me just enough easiness to make it through.  Which is funny, because usually when I am feeling overwhelmed at work I reach for more professional things.  Do you do that?

Truth be told, I also did it because I needed to move some paper files and the cabinet in which they live in anticipation of a new team member who will join us next week.  Which should relieve some of the stress and disorganization.

So, really, two birds.  One Stone.

Tee, professional perk!; cardi, J Crew; jeans, Lands' End.

Boho Luxe

I call today's look Boho Luxe.  My husband calls it Art Teacher.

I got a lot of comments on how different a look this is for me.  I don't see it, really.  Perhaps it is the scarf?  Or lack of belt?

Blouse, from my mom and before that, JC Penney; pants, Context; shoes, SE Boutique; Necklace, my Grammy.

Rushing It

I really want it to be warmer.  I want to wear bare legs (but not to shave them).  I want to wear short sleeves (but not a sweater).  I want to wear open toed shoes (but not to worry about snow getting into them) (and I also don't want to have to worry about a pedicure).

So in the meantime, I settle for color and flowers.

Skirt, Target; Cardi, J Crew; turtleneck, Victoria's Secret.

All Business

I don't want to be maudlin, but wouldn't this be a good funeral outfit?

I wasn't going to a funeral, but my Board meeting outfits are usually my more professional ones.  Alas, this outfit never made it to the Board meeting because winter weather in some of our area led to the meeting being turned into a teleconference.  Which I am not ashamed to admit I participated in pj-clad.

Don't worry, though, my outfit was shared with some colleagues and three new volunteers and my car!

30 for 30 Recap: Days 1 - 10

Spring is Upon Us

The load limit signs are up on local road.  The mud is flowing and gushing and squishing and oozing.  Croci might even be popping up their heads.  It is super windy. The 30 for 30 Challenge is over.

And I bought a new dress.

Finally.  That is all I have to say.

30 for 30: Day Twenty Nine

I am choosing to believe Spring is here.  Nevermind that pile of snow four feet high.

Believe it or not I saw some actual grass today.  And it was colored with a tinge of green.  Nevermind that it was over someone's septic.

30 for 30: Day 28

Somewhere along the way this dress shrunk.  When I first bought it I wore it as a dress, with tights.  Unless I've grown 6 inches, it has gotten markedly shorter.  And I am realy enjoying mixing it.  After the 30 is over, I may try it over another dress...

I am really shocked that I've been able to do the 30 with such ease.  Yes, I am sick of it, but I still have ideas.  Only two of the, but hey, that's all I need!

30 for 30: Days Twenty Six and Twenty Seven

Okay.  This is starting to get ponderous.  Will the 30 EVER end?  Next time: I include weekend wear.

Items worn: 3, 16, 18, 30

I am really overjoyed by the time change, at least as it impacts picture taking.  (Less so in regard to kids and sleep.)  And I love seeing winter recede a little in each picture!

I am going to miss my newfound pleasure in layering blouses and turtlenecks.  Ah, who am I kidding.  I can wear a turtleneck 10 months of the year up here.  12, if you consider it a blackfly blockers.

30 for 30: Day Twenty Five

Grandma Glamour.  That's how I feel about this outfit.  And I love it. I think it is all about the textures - the satiny pants, nubby sweater, silky blouse.  I was so comfy all day...at least in my body.  But not in my head, or rather, not in my ears.  Because my car's exhaust system rusted and broke.  150 miles from home.

So by the time I got home I had a raging headache.  Why do people MAKE their cars be so loud?

Not fitting for a Glam Gram, if you know what I mean.

30 for 30: Day Twenty Four

I am feeling triumphant and empowered. Which is why I don't care if the world sees my heair after 3 hours in damp and snow and rain and wind and snow and sleet.  Because I got to look this tired and disheveled doing something that I love:

I am totally feeling like a superhero right now!  We braved the elements to tell the people of Watertown what Planned Parenthood is all about, and based on the honking horns and thumbs up, they already knew.

And even superheroes can break the rules, so I am (GASP!) wearing an item NOT in my 30!

So this is the "after," but you can see the during here! (And if you look in the images tag by the video you can see a picture of me with my mouth open REALLY WIDE!)
